The importance of vendor events for my small business..

As a small business vendor events play an important role in marketing and expanding my business. By setting up at farmers’ markets, local shop small events and other festival events in our area I am able to meet other vendors, meet local customers and utilize the time to market my items.

Setting up for vendor events takes a TON of work. I always start preparing for these events by 1st- identifying my target market and who will be shopping at the event. I then make a list of products of mine that will likely sell to that target market. Once my list is made I then make a list of what items I will need as a vendor as far as display items, sales items, and more. From there I make all of the items to sell. Once all is made and packed in the car the last job before heading to the event is picking out an outfit. I always try to dress in an outfit from a local store and to also wear a large hat. The hat makes it easier for people to remember me by.

Once at the event I focus on eye catching displays and setting up a calm environment for people to shop. Again, vendor events play an essential part of my small business and I will be attending several this year.
