Selling our Alpaca Fiber

We have owned alpacas for around two years now and have loved the experience so far. We currently own 5 alpacas. Each of our alpcas have different personalities and different color fibers. Luke Bryan is white and is our oldest alpaca and is the Dad of the group, Blackhawk is brown and is the most reserved of the group and likes to be alone. Nimbus 2000 is grey and white and is the most protective and aware. Flynn Ryder is black and is the most social. Thunder is the baby and is white and is the most clingy to the herd, Each year we have the alpacas sheered in the late spring. We hire a traveling sheering small business that comes to our home and makes the experience easy and quick. The sheerer then sheers all alpacas, trim their hooves/teeth ect. I then bag up all of the fiber separately by fiber quality/color. This year we made it a goal to sell the fiber. There are several ways to sell the fiber but we wanted to sell it completely raw/unskirted and to someone local. Thankfully I had met a friend named Raven a while ago that I remembered loved to work with yarn. I contacted Raven, who is the head of Yarn Arts Anonymous and she said she would buy the fiber. Raven and her yarn club meet weekly in Ridgway, PA at the Creative Cup to make yarn/craft ect. Raven was so excited to work with the fiber that she washed, skirted and prepared a little section of the grey fiber to show me and it was beautiful when all ready! I can't wait to see how it all turns out into yarn and other projects.
