Simple homestead happiness

One goal of having our little homestead is the idea of slowing down and finding happiness in simple moments.

It may sound like a surprise, but our farm fresh brown eggs have given us so many simple moments of happiness. I shared about the first time we found a blue egg but that was just one moment. We also have found happiness in seeing a heart-shaped yolk after we dropped an egg on accident, finding the first egg ever laid on our homestead, being able to gift family members our first brown egg dozen, and cracking our first egg with a double yolk. Each of these moments was seemingly small but was memorable for our family. This picture of the yolk heart is a great reminder to look for happy moments.
