Introducing our dogs to our new goats

Years ago when we brought our first two goats home we were very nervous about how our dogs Boone and Ellie would reacts. At first we introduced them through the fence. Ellie took some time sniffing while Boone simply sat and stared at them. A few days after the goats came home we allowed the dogs to go into their pasture and instead of the dogs running to the goats they instead ran straight to the barn to see what was in there. Overall the introduction was non eventful and they all have gotten along ever since. Neither of our dogs are “farm/herd” dog breed. Ellie is a pittbull mix and Boone is a Shibu Inu/Lab mix.
