Hi! I am Jill. Let me reintroduce myself..

Hello! I haven’t done a introduction in a while so I wanted to share a little about myself.

My name is Jill and I am the owner of Allegheny Nesting. I moved to Kane over 10 years ago and have been “building my nest” ever since.

A few things to know about me:

I am a mom to three young children and my husband Kyle and created our homestead with as a place for them to learn, grow and experience hands on little life moments.

I am a former teacher and have a bachelors degree in early education. I love to teach and my entire career focus was early childhood development prior to staying at home with my kids.

I grew up in the suburbs of DC in Northern VA. I had no experience farming growing up so am truly learning as we go.

We started our “nest” with 2 dogs and now we have 3 kids, 6 goats, 5 alpacas, 30 chickens, 1 cat and 3 dogs.

Homesteading means so much to me and I try to utilize all of the resources from our animals and property in my products, house/life.

I love home decor and my new hobby is collecting ducks and other unique items for our home.

I have a wood laser and make my personalized home decor with my xtool.

I used to work with habitat for humanity in college at WVU which helped me learn how to use power tools. My husband still helps me a ton but I enjoy building new things with him.

My family spends most of our time outside and we love to explore the PA wilds by fishing, walking on the TAMED trail, trying new things like kayaking, and taking woods drives.

I am new to gardening but love to grow our own vegetables and also love landscaping.

I love to take adventures so my kids and I spend a lot of time traveling throughout the area playing, exploring and learning new places to go. I share the places we find to promote the area.

I hope that you by knowing a little more about me encourages you to support my little business and follow along.
